The Dashboard

When you access the Curriculum software website, you will see this screen:

login screen

The first thing you will want to do is login using your Binghamton credentials. The 'login' option is at the top right of the screen. That will take you to your Dashboard:

dashboard

There are four tabs at the top, and you will automatically start on the "My Tasks" tab. This area will show any active proposals or other items that require your attention.

The "My Proposals" tab shows proposals that you have submitted:

my proposals

Here, I have submitted a request to add a new General Education Designation to the course. The green thumbs-up shows that the first step has been approved. The blank circle on the right means that it has not gone to the next step yet. If my request had not been approved, there would be a red thumbs-down. If you mouse over the circle, it will give you details about the decision at that step, such as who approved or rejected the proposal, and the name of the next step in the process.

"Watch List" is where proposals that you have chosen to watch will appear, rather or not you have any required tasks to take with those proposals. "All Proposals" list every proposal that you may have access to view, comment, or act on.

Accessing Proposal Forms

The new proposal button can be found on each of the above tabs.

new proposal button

Clicking this button will take you to the Approval Processes dashboard:

new proposals

If you click on a proposal type, to the right a screen will appear that lists each step in the proposal process, the participants in that step, and the decision process. To the right of each proposal is the option to "preview form" (the box and arrow) and "start proposal" (the check mark).

You can use the preview form to see what questions need to be answered for the proposal before you begin filling it out. You may also save your proposals in process when you begin them if you need to.

All Processes will list every type of proposal available. Courses lists proposals related to creating, modifying, or deleting a course. Programs lists proposals related to creating, modifying, or deleting an academic program. Other lists remaining processes such as requesting a general education designation.

Starting a New Proposal

Clicking on the checkmark will begin a new proposal of that type.

proposal form

The top left includes information on the type of proposal, in this case: a new undergraduate program request for the academic calendar year of 2025-2026.

Beneath that are the following options:

Import-this is for use with the integration manager, and will not usually be necessary for new proposals.

Save All Changes-this will save your proposal as you fill it out, so you can come back to it at a later time if necessary before submitting.

Validate and Launch Proposal-this will verify that you have filled out all of the required options before submitting the proposal and beginning the approval process.

Also at the top of the screen is the option to print the proposal.

To the right is the "Approval Process" for that proposal type. Note that not every step is required. If a step has a greyed-in circle, that step is required in the approval process for every proposal of that type.

To the far right is a menu with four options. The top option will bring you back to the screen above. The second option allows you to attach files necessary for the proposal.

If you have any questions about this process or filling out the form, please feel free to email us at undergraded@binghamton.edu.
