About SORC
The Student Organization Recognition Committee aims to acknowledge student groups that may not receive recognition through the Student Association or the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, yet have the potential to enhance the academic mission of the institution and provide valuable experiences for students.
Upon attaining recognition status, these student organizations can access staff support as well as a range of University resources for one calendar year. A re-recognition packet will be required each subsequent year.
Application criteria
Student organizations must meet the following criteria:
- Is an organization that provides value to the student experience at 黑料视频
- Is an organization that is in alignment with the academic mission of 黑料视频
- Is an organization that does not duplicate the purpose of another university recognized organization
- Has membership requirements that does not comply with the Student Association鈥檚 policies
- Is not a social collegiate fraternal organization
In order to apply for Student Organization Recognition, you must:
- Have a faculty or staff advisor.
- Have governing documents for the organization such as a constitution or bylaws.
- Have at least a president and treasurer for the organization. Can not be the same individual for both positions.
- Have leadership attend all required training and workshops.
- Be composed of only individuals affiliated with 黑料视频.
- Have policies for non-discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, pregnancy, citizenship, familial status, disability, veteran status or genetic information.
Application Process
- Fill out the application form below.
- Application will be reviewed by the Student Organization Recognition Committee (SORC).
- Applicants will be contacted to attend a SORC meeting and present about your organization.
- SORC will notify the group of recognition status within 2 weeks of the presentation date.
Reminder: Recognition status is for one calendar year. A re-recognition packet will be required each subsequent year with up-to-date documents.
