Volunteer through the NYS Mentoring Program while simultaneously joining the NYS Mentoring Club on campus! After going through a quick and easy onboarding process, you will become a one-on-one mentor for a local Binghamton middle-school, elementary-school, or high-school aged student. You鈥檒l visit your mentee for one hour every week during your chosen time and hang out with them. You鈥檒l be in a room with a bunch of other mentors and mentees, where everyone is playing games, doing arts and crafts, and chatting. As a mentor, you serve as role model and support for your mentee. The student you are paired with will be going through a
tough time in their life, whether that鈥檚 due to family struggles, behavioral struggles, or economic struggles. You are there to be their friend and guide them through their tough times. The goal is to stay with the same mentee for as long as possible, which means you will be creating a strong and impactful relationship and bond with a student in need. This is an off-campus volunteering opportunity, so by joining our club in addition to the
organization, not only will there be fun events for you to attend, but you will also be able to carpool with other BU mentors. Becoming a volunteer with the NYS Mentoring Program is a great way to get some volunteer hours in, build your resume, and give back to the community.
