Position Title: Social Media and Data Coordination Intern
Organization: Mothers & Babies Perinatal Network (M&BPN)
Commitment: 12–15 hours per week
Schedule: In-office, Mondays through Fridays, between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Intern will work 1–2 days per week, with flexibility to align with the intern’s schedule and the Development and Marketing Coordinator’s availability.
Description:
The Social Media and Data Coordination Intern will focus on increasing M&BPN's online presence and supporting digital outreach efforts. Their primary goal will be growing the organization’s following to 5,000 across all social media platforms. This role involves content creation, engagement with followers, analyzing metrics to drive engagement, and supporting broader marketing strategies. The intern will work closely with the Development and Marketing Coordinator (DMC) and gain valuable experience in social media management, brand development, and community outreach. It’s perfect for those interested in marketing, social media strategy, and public health communication.
Responsibilities:
Develop and post content across M&BPN’s social media platforms.
Engage with followers and respond to inquiries.
Track and analyze social media metrics to assess growth and engagement.
Collaborate with staff to ensure content aligns with program goals and messaging.
Use social media analytics to optimize strategies for engagement.
Assist in creating and managing blog articles, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
Internship Structure:
Title: Social Media and Data Coordination Intern
Major: Likely in Marketing, Communications, or Data Science/Information Systems
Key Projects:
Data Understanding: Gain insights into how marketing data contributes to program and donor reporting.
Branding Strategy: Assist in refining M&BPN’s social media presence, particularly on Facebook, and ensure cohesive branding across sub-brands (e.g., Perinatal Services, Youth Education, Family Support).
Event Support: Assist in promoting the 2025 Fashion Gala, focusing on volunteer recruitment and event marketing.
Campus Ambassador Program: Develop and test a campus ambassador program targeting students in pre-med, human development, and related fields to enhance M&BPN’s visibility.
Social Media and Marketing Support: Assist with content creation and the development of marketing materials across digital channels.

Assist in coordinating communications about how marketing and donor engagement data support program reporting and impact measurement.
Participate in cross-departmental meetings to learn how data is used for reporting and decision-making.
Contribute to the design and branding of M&BPN’s social media presence, particularly on Facebook.
Stretch Assignments:
Volunteer Recruitment for 2025 Fashion Show: Develop strategies for engaging volunteers and creating outreach materials for the event.
Campus Ambassador Program (New Initiative): Help create a new program that promotes M&BPN on college campuses and fosters deeper student connections with the organization’s mission.
Monthly Breakdown and Tasks:
Month 1: Orientation & Cross-Departmental Exposure
Week 1: Introduction to the organization and its data systems (AWARDS, Bonterra, Fund E-Z).
Week 2: Assist with social media coordination and attend cross-departmental meetings to observe how data supports broader organizational efforts.
Week 3: Support donor communications and assist in compiling data for reports.
Week 4: Assist with content creation and observe data integration for internal reporting.
Month 2: Data Coordination & Social Media Integration
Week 1: Continue social media content creation while learning how marketing and donor data informs financial reports.
Week 2: Draft proposals for improving data integration between departments.
Week 3: Assist with fundraising content and prepare insights on how marketing data flows into financial reports.
Week 4: Work on social media posts and assist in branding efforts for the Annual Report.
Month 3: Impactful Reporting & Social Media Strategy
Week 1: Launch larger social media campaigns and provide feedback on branding guidelines.
Week 2: Assist with preparing visuals for the Annual Report, emphasizing donor impact and program outcomes.
Week 3: Monitor ongoing campaigns and assist with compiling final reports on data integration.
Week 4: Submit final internship report, summarizing contributions, insights, and learnings.
Commitment Level and Time Allocation:
12–15 hours per week, with flexibility for scheduling. Intern will attend all-staff meetings for cross-departmental exposure.
