Binghamton Move Out Project

Binghamton Move Out Project (Other)
binghamtonmoveout@gmail.com |
We aim to reduce waste and give back to our community during college student move out in the Spring. We offer drop off and pick-up options for students to get rid of unwanted items, and re-purpose those items by donating them to community organizations.

This initiative began in 2018 by a small group of students. Over the years it has grown into a larger effort run by the Susquehanna Group of the Sierra Club and the Sustainability Club on BU's campus.

For about two weeks in May, Binghamton Off-Campus Move Out offers drop off and pick-up options for students to get rid of unwanted items, including books, kitchenware, small appliances, furniture, clothing, electronics, non-perishable food items, and more. The Move Out team then sorts those items and donates them to organizations within the community. In the past we have donated to The Children's Home, the Addiction Center of Broome County, Binghamton Food Rescue, Truth Pharm, Urban League, and many more, as well as local schools and food pantries.
