The Commission for Conservation of the Environment for the City of Binghamton is a government commission, consisting of 9 commissioners, which advises the City Council on environmental matters and associated legislation.
The Commission has various committees and task forces and members of the community, including BU students, can participate and can be appointed members of these committees and task forces.
Currently the Commission has the following 4 committees and 3 task forces: By-Laws Committee, Climate Action & Resiliency Committee, Ecotoxicology Committee, Public Outreach and Education Committee, Managed Native Gardens Task Force, Water Quality Task Force, and Parks and Recreation Task Force. In addition, a Legislative Committee and Urban Planning/Zoning Committee have been discussed but not yet formally launched at the time of this posting.
