Want to stay in Binghamton for one more year after graduation? Join AmeriCorps and give back to our local community! Through AmeriCorps, you can put your energy and skills to work making a difference for people throughout Binghamton, Broome County and South Central New York. AmeriCorps offers unique opportunities to serve your community, develop skills, and build your teamwork and leadership potential. Rural Health Service Corps is recruiting throughout the year for full and part-time AmeriCorps positions.

The Rural Health Service Corps is an AmeriCorps National Service Program administered by the Rural Health Network of South Central New York. The purpose of the Rural Health Service Corps is to provide meaningful service and learning opportunities for people committed to improving the health and lives of those living in South Central New York State.

Rural Health Service Corps members address the broad community health needs of South Central NY, with a focus on the opioid epidemic through partners such as Tioga County Health Department, Broome County Promise Zone, Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network, Southern Tier AIDS Program, and more!

AmeriCorps members serving through the Rural Health Service Corps have the opportunity to serve their communities as they develop professional skills, build teamwork and leadership abilities, learn more about the areas of nonprofit management and community health, and connect with a broad network of AmeriCorps members, alumni and supporters.

The benefits of AmeriCorps service include:
- Living Allowance paid during service
- Segal Education Award at the completion of service (can be used to pay qualified student loans or education expenses)
- College loan forbearance for qualified loans
- Health Insurance (full-time members)
- Child care subsidy (full-time members)
