Incorporated in the City of Binghamton in 1892, the YWCA Binghamton and Broome County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promotes peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The agency provides homeless housing for women and their children through 5 housing programs; a licensed through NYS Office of Children and Family Services Early Childhood Center for infants through school-age;a program that provides healthcare screening and education for breast and cervical cancers for those with no insurance called ENCOREplus. The association is affiliated with the Northeast Regional Council YWCA and the YWCA USA and provides services to over 3,000 women annually in Broome, Tioga, Chenango and Delaware Counties in New York, Susquehanna in Pennsylvania.
