Yu "David" Liu is interested in improving the sustainability, energy efficiency, reliability and security of emerging software systems. Broadly, he is interested in programming languages, software engineering, robotics and software-hardware interfaces.

He regularly teaches Programming Languages (CS471 and CS571), Programming Models for Emerging Platforms (CS476/576) and Sustainable Computing (CS680G).

Liu received his PhD from Johns Hopkins University and joined the Binghamton faculty in 2008. He is a recipient of an NSF CAREER Award, a Google Faculty Research Award and a Fulbright Scholarship.
