Job Summary:

The UDiversity Educational Institute at 黑料视频 is a collaborative team of diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) practitioners and coordinators that are a collective of leaders responsible for presenting and coordinating workshops, trainings, and symposiums, on a wide range of diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion topics. The Graduate Assistant (UDiversity GA) will assist in the development of creative programs and training initiatives within a collaborative team dynamic. UDiversity GA may assist with program and policy research and will develop skills to assist with leading workshops that focus on topics such as healing circles, bystander prevention, community building, and identity development with students, faculty, staff, and community members. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the UDiversity GA shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Attend cultural competency and other diversity training; become a cultural competency and diversity workshop facilitator.
  • Assist with development of UDiversity Educational workshops, training modules and resource materials.
  • Assist with conducting assessments, research best DEI practices (e.g., review of current and seminal literature) and benchmark surveys from other sources. 
  • Assist with collecting and analyzing data from training evaluation results. 
  • Attend and participate in regular supervision and staff meetings; 
  • Attend conferences and educational events as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the UDiversity Educational Institute staff, Executive Director for Equity, Access and Diversity Education, and other Diversity, Equity and Inclusion staff, as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor鈥檚 degree or be enrolled as a graduate student.
    Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, creative and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently; team leadership experience is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable about diversity, cultural competency, and inclusion topics.
  • Experience in event planning, workshop development, facilitation, training, and marketing a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google documents, and social media platforms.
  • Some night and weekend hours are required.
  • Preference given to students enrolled in Higher Education and Student Affairs; Sociology; Social Work, Psychology; Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies; MPA; and CCPA PhD students are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Term: Graduate Assistant appointment will be expected to start as early as August 15, 2024 and end as late as May 21, 2025. 

Compensation: This assistantship includes a base stipend for the year of $11,000, paid biweekly. This position is represented by the Graduate Student Employees Union (GSEU), and the stipend includes all potential union negotiated raises applicable for the academic year. This position requires twenty (20) work hours per week.
