Bearcats storm back to beat George Mason

Binghamton wrestling went 1-2 at the Journeymen/ASICS Northeast Duals, held Nov. 30 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. The Bearcats (1-3) lost to North Carolina (22-14) and NC State (23-9) before rallying to defeat George Mason, 21-14, in the team鈥檚 final dual of the event.
Senior 197-pound Cody Reed went a perfect 3-0 on the day and junior heavyweight Tyler Deuel went 2-1 with the decisive pin against George Mason. Also winning two matches on the day were junior 125-pound David White, redshirt freshman 174-pound Jack McKeever, junior 184-pound Caleb Wallace and junior 149-pound Joe Bonaldi.
Against George Mason, Binghamton dropped four of the first six matches to fall behind 14-6. But the Bearcats stormed back with four straight wins, highlighted by Deuel鈥檚 pin in the final match. With Binghamton clinging to a 15-14 lead, Deuel (10-4) ended the drama at the 2:58 mark, notching his team-high fourth pin of the season. Earlier in the day, he earned a technical fall in just 2:48 against North Carolina.
Reed (12-4) picked up three decisions - each by two points.
