The Binghamton swimming and diving program competed in its second dual meet in as many days, as the Bearcats earned a split against host Colgate on Jan. 15, at Lineberry Natatorium in Hamilton. The men (1-5) earned their first victory of the season 177-121, while the women (1-5) fell 180-114. The triumph for the men marked their eighth straight over the Raiders.

鈥淚 thought we swam and dove really well on both sides,鈥� head coach Sean Clark said. 鈥淲e got some huge individual performances out of a number of swimmers and continued our strong diving weekend. A few newcomers continued to impress with freshmen Corinne Zotter and Alexi Corey each earning a pair of victories. It is just great to see our young swimmers and divers get better each time they enter the pool.鈥�

The men, who won 10 of the 16 events, were led by junior Josh Saccurato鈥檚 three first-place finishes. The freshman duo of Alexi Corey and Devin Zdanowski also secured a pair of victories for the Bearcats. Other winners on the day for Binghamton were senior Nolan Slesnick and junior Tim Cabasino.

Saccurato and Cabasino led a dominating effort by the Binghamton men in the two breaststroke events. The Bearcats swept each affair, with Saccurato taking the 200 breast (2:11.49) and Cabasino touching first in the 100 breast (59.90). Junior Andrew Ellman took third in each event, while freshman Leo Wright finished second in the 100 breast and sophomore Colin Figus placed second in the 200.

Saccurato鈥檚 two other victories came in the 200 fly (1:56.30) and 400 IM (4:12.25). Slesnick swam to his first-place showing in the 500 free with a time of 4:45.45. The foursome of junior Mark Cereste, Ellman, Saccurato and Cabasino opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay (1:38.24), helping the men get off to a fast start.

In a breakout performance, Corey swam to a pair of first-place finishes in the backstroke events. He touched first in the 100 back with a time of 54.45 and again in the 200, finishing with a time of 1:59.36. Corey squeezed out his victory in the 100 back, edging out his rival from Colgate by one-hundredth of a second.

Zdanowski, who had an excellent weekend on both boards, won the meter dive (284.55) for the third straight dual meet. He also took first in the three-meter dive, breaking his own 黑料视频 freshman record set the day before with a score of 318.30, knocking on the door of the Zone Championship qualifying score of 320.

On the women鈥檚 side, freshman Corinne Zotter touched first in each of the breaststroke events. She won the 200 breast with a time of 2:23.61, breaking the school and freshman record set by current teammate Lauren Flower last year. Zotter claimed her second win of the day by taking the 100 breast in a time of 1:06.25, propelling her to second all-time in Binghamton鈥檚 Division I program history.

Freshman diver Imani Williams had a record-setting day as well, winning the meter dive. After setting a new freshman record on the three-meter board against Buffalo on Jan. 14, Williams set a new standard for newcomers on the meter board. Her score of 243.75 broke Annie Malvasi鈥檚 mark of 239.18 set in 2006.

Junior Olivia Baczek claimed a first-place showing in the 50 free with a time of 25.02. Freshman Shannon Lampe had a solid outing against the Raiders, taking second in both the 100 back (59.90) and 100 fly (1:00.30).
