Binghamton’s Career Development Center had a strong presence at the 35th annual SUNY Career Development Organization’s conference held June 8-10, earning two awards for excellence, conducting program sessions and serving on committees for the conference:
1. Awards for excellence were given for the CDC’s Student Staff Development Program which provided student staff with an active mentoring program, monthly working sessions to work on their personal career awareness and a competitive professional development model; and for the initiative,“It’s a New Year; Let’s Resolve to Promote Professionalism” in which they rallied the Division of Student Affairs around one of the hottest issues facing students’ career development.
2. Nancy Paul, director, and Erin Jennings, senior counselor/Peer Assistant Program coordinator, conducted a conference program session titled, “Promoting Professionalism: It Takes a Village” that highlighted the award-winning initiative noted above.
3. Holly Horn, assistant director for career development, served on the Conference Planning Committee and Board of Directors.
4. Wren Fritsky, career counselor, served on the Awards Committee.
5. Brandy Smith, career counselor, served on the Board of Directors.
