Walker Land, research professor of bioengineering, was awarded 鈥淏est Paper鈥 for a paper titled 鈥淎 New Tool for Survival Analysis: Evolutionary Programming/Evolutionary Strategies (EP/ES) Support Vector Regression Hybrid Using Both Censored/Non-Censored (Event) Data鈥 at the 2011 Complex Adaptive Systems Conference held Oct. 31-Nov. 2, in Chicago. Land鈥檚 collaborators on the paper were Dan Margolis, graduate student in Systems Science and Industrial Engineering; Xingye Qiao, assistant professor of mathematical sciences; and Ron Gottlieb, radiologist, University of Arizona.
