Sodexo Campus Services was named the 2011 NYSARC Inc. Central Region Employer of the Year for its commitment to working with employees with disabilities and its innovative work-study program with local high schools. Sodexo employee Ellen Brown, 22, was also recognized for her service. She was placed with Sodexo through a program with local school districts that provides opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. On average, Sodexo employs about 20 employees on campus per year who have been referred from local school districts. In addition, Sodexo was recognized for hosting on-campus dinners prepared by Sodexo and served by student volunteers twice a year for the elderly and disabled from local facilities.
