David Sloan Wilson recently received a Books for a Better Life Award for his book, The Neighborhood Project, from the Southern New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The award which recognizes authors whose messages are aligned with the chapter鈥檚 mission of inspiring people to live their best lives, was presented at the organization鈥檚 16th annual ceremony held Monday, March 12, at The TimesCenter in Manhattan. Sloan鈥檚 was given in the 鈥済reen鈥 category. Winners were chosen from five nominees in each of the 10 self-improvement categories. Since their inception in 1996, the Books for a Better Life Awards have recognized more than 600 self-improvement authors, raising more than $1.8 million for the New York City - Southern New York Chapter鈥檚 comprehensive support services and educational programs for people living with MS, their friends and families.
