Thomas O’Connor, distinguished professor of Spanish, was appointed this summer by to the Executive Committee of the SUNY Distinguished Academy. The academy’s first meeting was held in Albany on Oct. 22, to organize its by-laws and activities and involve the 444 system-wide distinguished professors in actively furthering the SUNY chancellor’s Six Big Ideas initiative for the system.
