Stephen Gowe and Jeffrey Horowitz are this year’s Professional Employees Council Distinguished Service Award winners and were recognized at the fall luncheon on Oct. 24. Gowe, assistant director of operations for Physical Facilities, has provided over 11 years of service to ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ, participating in a wide variety of projects and job accountabilities; assisting in the planning, budgeting and management of numerous projects around campus; playing an integral role in the construction of the Memorial Courtyard and various other prominent landscaping projects. Gowe was a fundamental member of the 2006 and 2011 flood response teams. Horowitz, assistant director for Residential Life, has been with ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ and Residential Services for over 17 years. Horowitz commits himself not only to the student residents that he oversees in the Dickinson Community, but also to the staff members he supervises. He is known for being a mentor, a leader, an educator and a community member who makes it a point to dedicate his time to helping others. Within the Residential Community, he helps oversee the National Residence Hall Honorary and during his personal time, he is actively involved in the Special Olympics and local soccer leagues around the community.
