Grocery Stores
There are several prominent grocery stores in the area as well as smaller, more specialized retailers. shows many of the different stores and their locations. Some of the major grocery stores are Price Chopper, Wegmans, and Weis. Most neighborhoods in the Greater Binghamton area will have a grocery store nearby, although students and scholars who choose to live on the North Side of Binghamton will find that there is not currently a major grocery store within walking distance.
Many students, faculty and staff choose to go to Wegmans due to its closeness to the university and perceived quality of food. There is also an OCCT route that will bring students to Wegmans from campus.
Public School Districts
There are several public school districts in the Greater Binghamton area. Binghamton University and the neighborhoods surrounding it typically fall into the Vestal Central School District. Some other districts are: Binghamton, Chenango Forks, Chenango Valley, Johnson City, Maine-Endwell, Union-Endicott, Susquehanna Valley, and Windsor.
