Spring Admitted First-Years

Spring 2025 Orientation 

The following information is for first-year students who have been admitted for the Spring 2025 semester and will therefore be attending our Spring Admitted Orientation experience. The Orientation Experience includes several components including an Orientation session. We are offering two Orientation sessions for students to choose from - students only need to attend either
Orientation A or Orientation B.


Spring 2025 Orientation Experience

  • Orientation Checklist: The New Student Checklist, which goes live on in mid-September, outlines important steps to complete before the Spring semester.

  • BUZZ Emails: Weekly emails loaded with resources and opportunities to take advantage of here at Binghamton. These are sent by Admissions, so keep an eye out in your email!
  • Orientation Sessions (Choose one of the two options): An in-person, session(s) where you will learn about campus, meet other new students, and receive information about academic advising and course registration. See dates below.
    • Orientation A: Sunday, October 20th from 11:00am-3:45pm
      and Sunday, January 19th 1:00pm-4:00pm
    • Orientation B: Sunday, January 19th 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Virtual Academic Advising and Registration Appointments: At your Orientation session, you will sign up for your virtual course registration appointment, which will be scheduled for the days following your Orientation session. Don't forget to complete your pre-advising material that can be found on your Orientation Checklist on , once you select an Orientation date.
    • Special note for Harpur students: in addition to attending the Orientation session, Harpur College students must also complete their Advising & Interest Survey before they are eligible to schedule their Advising & Registration appointment. 
  • New Student Move-In and Welcome Program: Our new students will move into the residence halls early and participate in welcome programming. More information will be sent out about move-in as we get closer to the start of the spring semester.

All new matriculated incoming first-year students for Spring 2025. 

How do you register?

Every newly admitted student who has paid their admissions’ deposit is encouraged to attend Orientation. Details regarding the registration process will be emailed to the student's Binghamton email. If you are unable to register for an Orientation date, please contact our office so we may assist you either over the phone (607-777-6393) or through e-mail (orientation@binghamton.edu). 

Family members are welcome to attend our Family Orientation program. For more information, see below. Students can register family members when they register for Orientation.

What's next? 

After you complete your Orientation registration, you will receive a confirmation email that will direct you back to your Orientation Checklist on . Make sure to complete all necessary items to be fully prepared for your Orientation experience. 

All spring admitted students, regardless of when you attend Orientation, will move into their spring housing assignment on January 18, 2025. Students will receive communications from Residential Life regarding exact move in times.

Family Orientation 

Family Orientation offers families of newly admitted students the opportunity to engage with ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ’s campus and understand the many resources available for our students. Students can register their family members for Family Orientation when they register for their own session on the "Family Orientation" tab in .

Family Orientation Session:

Sunday, October 20th from 11:00am-3:45pm. Details will be emailed to those registered.

This option is CONCURRENT to your student’s Orientation session. During this in-person session, families will meet with and hear from current ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ students, Residential Life and Housing, Financial Services, and more. Attendees will be able to see campus and connect with staff and students. Please note that offices will not be open for walk-ins as this session takes place during a weekend day.

Please note: There is no family program associated with the January Orientation session.
