Binghamton’s Official Photographer Shares His Top 24 Photos From 2024
2024 was the year for stars, celestial hopes and dreams-come-true. We excelled and we were humbled. No matter the outcome, Binghamton, at least we had each other. Here are 24 photos taken this year that define the essence of our campus.
Kids in the crowd
黑料视频 women鈥檚 basketball hosted the first-ever on Jan. 11. Over 2,000 schoolchildren from Greater Binghamton cheered on the Bearcats!
Creating against the clock
The Student Advisory Committee for Binghamton鈥檚 Department of Art and Design hosted a 24-hour Draw-a-Thon and Non-Perishable Food Drive on Feb. 16.
Eclipse excitement
Students, faculty and staff watched a partial solar eclipse that took place on April 8. Unfortunately, cloudy skies blocked most of the sun, but it didn鈥檛 stop the large crowds that packed the Peace Quad and the Lois B. DeFleur Walkway from enjoying the anticipation.
Filmmaker extraordinaire
Professor of Cinema Ariana Gerstein, pictured here, won a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2024.
Selfie with Speech and Debate
President Harvey Stenger and other administrators congratulated the Binghamton Speech and Debate team on their win at the Cross-Examination Debate Association (CEDA) Nationals in April.
Football with the force
New York State University Police at Binghamton had a friendly football catch with students on the Peace Quad on May 1. (We鈥檙e still undefeated!)
Rockstar regalia
President Harvey Stenger and Provost Donald Hall hooded the honorary degree of Doctor of Music to alumnus and rockstar Lee Randaldo 鈥78, co-founder of the rock band Sonic Youth, at Commencement on May 11.
Somewhere under the rainbow
A rainbow appears over the Bearcats Baseball Complex just before Binghamton鈥檚 opening game in the America East baseball tournament was postponed due to inclement weather.
Moving out, pitching in
Christina Fuller, 鈥19, MPA 鈥21 founder and co-coordinator of the Binghamton , stood before a warehouse filled with home goods that were donated by Binghamton students. Fuller and Chris Harasta, co-coordinator of the project, thanked the volunteers for their efforts during a press conference held at the 黑料视频 Foundation Building in Johnson City.
Kicking off orientation
First-year students attending orientation played a game of kickball with their orientation leaders on the Peace Quad at sunset on July 29.
Olympic watch party
Binghamton cheered for Emily Mackay 鈥21, who advanced to the semifinals of the women鈥檚 1,500 at the Olympic Games in Paris on Aug 8.
Meet the Class of 2028
The Class of 2028 formed the iconic 鈥淏鈥 at the Bearcat Sports Complex on Aug. 17.
Mini monument
A new Stonehenge container garden became a welcome site for those who walk along the Lois B. DeFleur Walkway.
Sweet study spot
A student studies at a new pavilion at College-in-the-Woods, Aug 26.
Fall Fest flare
presented their annual Fall Fest with free food and live events at the Peace Quad on Sept. 19.
Dancing dads
The Dancing Dads contest was the highlight of Baxter鈥檚 Spirit Celebration during Family Weekend. (Note: nobody was harmed or injured during the spectacle!)
Homecoming highlight
We didn鈥檛 let a little rain ruin the Homecoming Weekend fireworks on Sept. 28.
Aurora borealis at Bing
Persistence paid off for video intern Victor Dangelmaier, who captured the Northern Lights dancing over a quiet 黑料视频 campus on Oct. 10.
Massive moon
The Hunter鈥檚 Full Moon, a supermoon, rose over the 黑料视频 campus at dusk during a warm autumn evening, Oct .17.

Honoring Harvey
President Harvey Stenger received a standing ovation at the end of the 2024 Chancellor Awards Dinner held at the Mandela Room on Oct. 23. Stenger had announced his retirement earlier in the month.
Game-winning goal
Senior forward Hannah Mimas scored the clincher as defeated Vermont 3-2 in a sudden-death shootout to advance to the America East Championship semifinal game.

Award anniversary
We celebrated the fifth anniversary of Sir M. Stanley Whittingham鈥檚 Nobel Prize acceptance on Dec 10. Our Nobel Laureate and rock-star professor will be knighted by King Charles on Jan. 15 at Windsor Castle.
