Everything You Need to Know About Spring Fling 2025

Hey Bearcats! Finals are almost here, and summer break is just around the corner. But before we start locking in, there鈥檚 one last chance to relax and celebrate the end of the semester鈥! I didn鈥檛 get to go last year as a first-year student, but now that I am a sophomore, I鈥檓 definitely not missing it. From fun rides and games to prizes, tasty food, student clubs, and a live concert to end the night, it鈥檚 one of Binghamton鈥檚 biggest events of the year. for May 3, and keep reading to find out all that Spring Fling has to offer.

Come ready for the rides!

There are tons of rides set up right on campus, and trust me鈥攜ou鈥檒l want to try them all! Make sure to wear comfy clothes and shoes so you can enjoy every ride without worry.

Enjoy Binghamton鈥檚 Tradition - Stepping on the Coat!

Stepping on the Coat has been Binghamton鈥檚 long-standing tradition that 鈥渂ecame a beacon of hope that the winter would eventually end.鈥 It began in April 1966 when student Larry Kressel, tired of the snow, took off his coat and stomped on it, which miraculously stopped the snow. When another storm came the following April, Kressel stomped on the coat again and the snow stopped. Now it is a yearly tradition that we celebrate at Spring Fling! So make sure you come ready to stomp on the coat.

Be prepared to compete

If you are a competitive person (like me), you鈥檙e going to love the games. Go compete with your friends, win some prizes and maybe even earn bragging rights for the rest of the semester. Come ready to sweat a little and have a lot of fun!

Learn about Student Clubs

Spring Fling is not just about rides and food鈥 will be tabling too! It鈥檚 a great chance to check out all the fun and unique organizations Binghamton has to offer. So come ready to meet people and gather info. Who knows—you might find a new club to join next semester!

Prepare to eat a lot!

One of my favorite things about outdoor events is the food! Spring Fling brings out so many food trucks, with tons of options for everyone. So make sure to come hungry and ready to try new food!

Come ready to watch some performances!

Get ready for live performances from talented Binghamton student groups. From bands to dance teams to a cappella, there鈥檚 always something cool to see. Bring your friends, cheer them on and enjoy the shows!

Take a break and come back to watch a Concert!

To close out the day in the best way possible, you must attend the Spring Fling concert! This year鈥檚 headliner is , and I know already that it鈥檚 going to be an amazing concert. The New York Times has called A Boogie 鈥渢he most promising young rapper the city has produced in some time.鈥 His catchy rap music is the reason why he has a wide audience, particularly among young adults and hip-hop fans.
