School of Management highlighted the work of faculty at its annual excellence reception
Three faculty members from 黑料视频鈥檚 School of Management were honored at this year鈥檚 Excellence Reception. The annual event is an opportunity for the school to recognize the teaching and research accomplishments of its faculty.
2019 School of Management Award for Excellence in Teaching
Sophie Liang
Sophie Liang is an assistant professor of accounting and has taught auditing since joining 黑料视频 in August 2016.
Liang believes that teaching is more about inspiration than it is about imparting information, and she strives to create a classroom where students actively discover knowledge rather than passively accepting it.
2019 School of Management Award for Research Excellence
Rory Eckardt
Rory Eckardt is an assistant professor of strategy and a fellow at the Bass Center for Leadership Studies. His research focuses on multilevel aspects involved in the development and deployment of human capital resources to achieve competitive advantage.
He has published in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies and Long Range Planning, and is currently guest-editing a special issue for Organizational Research Methods on new multilevel methods.
2019 School of Management Adjunct Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching
Robert Shutt
Robert Shutt is an adjunct lecturer in business communications at the School of Management. His passion for teaching is reflected in his animated and enthusiastic classroom presence. Shutt believes the ability to effectively communicate is fundamental for a successful career because it enables a person to share knowledge and personality in a compelling manner.
Shutt is also an etiquette educator and promotes business etiquette through presentations, recorded lectures and his book, Shine While You Dine: Business Dining Etiquette for the Virtual Age.
