Martin Luther King III, the oldest son of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, is a prominent thought leader and international statesman, consulting with heads of state and governments across the world. Building on his father鈥檚 legacy, King has dedicated his life to promoting global human rights and working to eliminate racism, violence, and poverty internationally. His efforts focus on finding strategic, non-violent solutions to address social, political and economic injustices while advocating for the rights of the poor and oppressed.
鈥淲e are excited to welcome Martin Luther King III to Binghamton and have him lead this important discussion,鈥 said Karen Jones, vice president for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. 鈥淎s a respected civil rights advocate and global humanitarian, he is uniquely qualified to talk about the lasting legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.鈥檚 work. We hope this conversation will inspire a new generation of leaders.鈥
The evening includes a talk with King and a book signing.
