Alumnus; Lead Mechanical Engineer, GE Aerospace

I graduated with a 2 year Mechanical Engineering Technologies from SUNY Broome in 2004; after which I started working full time at a local engineering firm. I was working full time while pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After 1 semester of trying to work full time and take classes full time, I dropped down to taking classes part time, and did this for several years, until I could afford to drop my hours at work to part time and attend classes full time. Due to this, and some poor guidance from my high school guidance counselor, it took me significantly longer to get my degree. However, I was able to graduate with minimal debt and had a full time position waiting for me after I graduated. I currently work as a lead mechanical engineer for GE Aerospace designing jet engine components. During my free time I enjoy working on cars, machining components, 3D printing, casting, and welding in my home shop.
