William Hayes
Assistant Professor, Psychology
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, where I lead the Decision Research and Modeling (DReaM) lab. My research focuses on the cognitive processes involved in judgment and decision making. I grew up in the upstate of South Carolina and received a bachelor's degree at North Greenville University, a small liberal arts college. I was fortunate to receive mentoring from a professor there who encouraged me to apply to graduate programs and pursue a career in research. I then went on to complete a master's degree at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology at the University of South Carolina. Outside of work, I am a huge music nerd and am way too invested in my favorite college football team. I am excited to offer guidance and insights from my own experience with other first-gen students!
