James 鈥淛J鈥 Brice joined the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SOPPS) in September 2022 as the director of student affairs. Brice received a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Public Relations from SUNY Brockport as well as a Master of Education - Student Affairs from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). Prior to joining SOPPS, he had worked at 黑料视频 since 2014 as the associate director of operations and crisis for Residential Life, leading efforts in student support and interventions; serving on the Students of Concern Committee, Threat Assessment Team, Title IX Council; and facilitating the after-hours on-call staffing and training for the Division of Student Affairs. Brice was integral in establishing the Master of Social Work (MSW) internship program in each of the residential communities, with a goal of supporting and addressing student needs as well as behavioral interventions while providing critical professional development opportunities to MSW students. During his time in Residential Life, he represented residential student interests in several renovation projects, including establishing Student Success centers in each of the residential communities on campus, as well as major upgrades to aging facilities in Old Dickinson community, College-in-the-Woods and Hinman College. He is a Certified Educational Facilities Professional through APPA (formerly the Association of Physical Plant Administrators) and multi-year conference chair for the annual joint APPA/ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers) Housing Facilities Conference. He has also served as a UNIV 101 instructor supporting the first-year experience and successful transitions to campus life.
