As we welcome 2025, I reflect on a year that has tested the resilience of higher education. Challenges to policies and practices have created uncertainties for some of the most vulnerable students. Financial aid disruptions have further complicated access to critical resources, amplifying the pressures on our students 鈥 many of whom are the first in their families to attend college. Yet, amid these challenges, our mission remains steadfast: to protect the educational goals and aspirations of our students.

At 黑料视频's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), we continue to provide the educational system supports and conditions that empower our students to thrive. Their dedication and persistence shine through as they excel academically, participate in internships, engage in civic and service programming, lead student organizations and embrace opportunities such as service learning and study-abroad programs, proving that given the right resources, our students can and will achieve greatness. These successes affirm the transformative power of education and the importance of fostering an environment where students can overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams.

As the landscape of higher education evolves, we want you to know that EOP remains more committed than ever to the next generation of students. We will continue to advocate for and invest in support services and resources that safeguard the aspirations and ensure the success of our students. This commitment relies on partnerships and support from individuals like you, enabling us to offer essential services like tutoring, academic coaching, financial literacy programs, counseling, pre-professional opportunities and emergency assistance. Your assistance also helps us to create opportunities to celebrate our students like we do each year at our Town Hall Meetings, Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society events and Senior Recognition Ceremony. As an EOP alumna, I know firsthand the life-changing impact of this program and remain deeply committed to ensuring every student has the same opportunity to excel.

The path forward remains demanding, and we must continue to adapt to meet our students鈥 needs. Together, we can face these challenges and empower the next generation of EOP leaders with the tools to thrive despite the obstacles ahead. As we look forward to a year of opportunity and growth, we thank you for your continued belief in the transformative power of education.

We are deeply inspired by the words of the late Nikki Giovanni, a literary icon who graced the Binghamton campus on multiple occasions. Her powerful voice and profound wisdom continue to resonate with us, reminding us of the transformative power of resilience, creativity and education. She shared in a poem,

鈥淲e鈥檙e going to Mars
Because it gives us a reason
To look up.
It gives us a reason to hope.鈥

Thank you for believing in the promise of our students and for standing with us in this important work.

Let us continue to walk boldly, together.
