Andrea Palmeri is a research development specialist in the Office of Strategic Research Initiatives. In this role, she works with faculty and faculty teams to develop external funding proposals. She advises on the development of workforce development programs as well as establishing industry collaborations. This role is based on her experience with industry, which has included serving as the managing director for the Center for Energy-Smart Electronic Systems (ES2), an NSF-funded Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/URC), which focuses on improving the efficiency and sustainability of data centers. As managing director, Palmeri has worked with faculty at multiple institutions and industry partners to develop research projects and establish workforce opportunities through research projects or internships for students associated with the center. Palmeri applies this experience to bridge Binghamton’s faculty with industry partners in the areas of semiconductors, microelectronics, and medical devices. She holds a master’s degree in advanced technology and systems science from ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ and a bachelor’s degree in math and computer science from the University of Scranton. Andrea Palmeri
