Background: Elizabeth A. Mellin, Ph.D., LPC, ACS, is an associate professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership at 黑料视频鈥檚 College of Community and Public Affairs. With a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University, Mellin is a leading scholar in interprofessional collaboration in education, school mental health and trauma-informed practices. Her research focuses on expanded school mental health, integrated student supports and the intersection of mental health and education, particularly in rural settings. Mellin has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on topics such as social capital in school-community partnerships, interprofessional collaboration, and the impact of trauma on student learning. She has secured significant grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education and other agencies to support her research on expanding student support services in schools. A dedicated educator, she has developed and taught courses on interdisciplinary collaboration, trauma counseling, and mental health in schools. Beyond academia, Mellin actively consults with schools and organizations to improve mental health integration in educational settings.
