-Greatist.com (2017)
Health and wellness have been top priorities for years at Binghamton, so it's no surprise that Binghamton was named one of the healthiest colleges in the country! B-Healthy (Binghamton's healthy campus initiative) supports anyone and everyone pursuing their goals for a healthy lifestyle. Breathe easy... we're also a tobacco-free campus.
A cutting-edge fitness center

Whether you're looking for gains or to shed some unwanted pounds, you can always break a sweat at FitSpace, Binghamton's 10,000-square-foot campus fitness center. It's housed in our Recreation Center, which offers a wide range of exercise options in addition to the cardio and weightlifting at FitSpace. Check out our group fitness classes, the gym for group sports and the five-lane pool.
Outdoor recreation

Binghamton's Outdoor Pursuits offers classes as well as rental equipment for activities such as hiking and paddling on local rivers. Let's not forget the most scenic spot on campus, our 190-acre Nature Preserve — a protected forest and wetlands with a six-acre pond. With over 11 miles of maintained hiking and running trails, it's a great place for fitness!
Division I athletics

Elite athletes participate in athletic teams and are members of the America East Conference.
Spirited group sports

Over 2,000 students participate in 41 recreational and competitive clubs, many that have won regional and national championships. The intramural program offers a variety of individual and team sports that more than 3,000 students take advantage of each year.
Healthy eats

Binghamton's offer a variety of healthy options to fulfill all dietary needs — if you're gluten-intolerant, vegan or have allergies, Binghamton has you covered, too.
On-campus nutrition counseling from registered dietitians is a resource available to students free of charge to assist with nutrition education, meal planning and assistance navigating the dining halls with a food restriction.
The BU Acres Farm, located right on campus, promotes sustainability through locally grown produce. During the harvest festival students and faculty pick crops — yellow squash, kale, pears and apples — and prepare a feast!
Counseling

Achieving a healthy life/work balance in college is important. The University Counseling Center offers support to Binghamton students in a variety of ways, such as through programs on managing stress, developing and sustaining healthy relationships, and building coping skills to better manage college life.
