In fall 2017, ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ began work on the three-year HCI Strategic Plan. A cross-divisional group of representatives worked together over the course of the 2017–2018 academic year to construct an ambitious but achievable plan, which when completed will make a notable difference in the health culture on campus.
Past HCI projects, as well as specific objectives and action items identified in this Strategic Plan, are directed at both population and individual level determinants. Our priorities will be driven by our own campus data and tied directly to the strategic priorities of the President's Road Map to Premier strategic plan.
2018–2021 Goals
- Develop a comprehensive communications plan to support health and well-being
- Expand the use of assessment to set priorities and inform initiatives.
- Develop and implement evidence-based practices that support well-being.
- Develop and maintain physical, staffing and cultural infrastructure to support well-being.
- Strengthen and promote the infusion of health and well-being across academic disciplines.
The Healthy Campus Initiative has adopted an ecological model framework as a guide for directing future efforts. This means that the best health and wellness outcomes will result from a multi-faceted approach that addresses individual health behaviors, cultural norms/expectations/values, the environment, and public policies.
