Background

Kara Nunn MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL, is a clinical instructor in the Division of Speech and Language Pathology at 黑料视频's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, where she teaches and supervises graduate and undergraduate SLP students.  

She is a board-certified specialist in child language and language disorders and has served on multiple New York state and local committees to support professionals and students.  Nunn鈥檚 clinical experience encompasses early intervention, preschool and public school populations and post-21 transitioning.

Nunn has dedicated her professional career to evaluating and treating individuals with diverse communication needs. She has extensive experience working with adolescent students, evaluating, treating and consulting with clients, families and educators to treat childhood language and literacy disorders specific to expository disorders, language-learning disabilities and supporting literacy through written language intervention. 

Nunn has a holistic approach to treatment as an advocate, teacher, consultant and mentor. Client and family goals are the primary focus of therapy sessions. In addition, she has focused on developing programming for the carryover of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) into the community and supporting families and students outside the educational setting.

She holds training in PROMPT and Speak OUT & LOUD Crowd programming; she is also Hanen certified.
