Emergency Manager, SUNY Oneonta
Dave has 30 years of experience in the various disciplines of emergency services including Emergency Management, Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement. Dave started his career as a volunteer firefighter with the Hartwick Fire Department in 1992.In 1996, Dave went to work for the City of Oneonta Fire Department where he retired in 2016. In July 2001, Dave joined the Office of Emergency Services in Otsego County as the Assistant Emergency Services Coordinator. In 2004, Dave joined the New York State Emergency Management Office in Region II in the lower Hudson Valley as a Disaster Preparedness Representative. Dave鈥檚 primary responsibilities in this role was emergency response to disasters, planning, radiological emergency planning, and incident management training across New York State. Dave left the Office of Emergency Management in 2007 to take a job with New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control as a Fire Protection Specialist assigned to the Syracuse Office of the State Fire Marshals Office performing college fire inspections. Finally in 2008, Dave came to serve as the Emergency Manager at SUNY Oneonta University Police where he serves on SUNY Emergency Management Executive Committee.
Dave holds an AAS Degree in Natural Resource Conservation from the Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua and a BS Degree in Ecological Biology from the SUNY Oneonta as well as numerous State and Federal certifications.
