The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant provides up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach full-time in high-need subject areas at schools serving low-income families. Recipients must teach for at least four years within eight years of completing their program.

Student Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the TEACH Grant, you must:
- Complete the .
- Be a matriculated student in a TEACH-eligible program (above).
- Meet academic achievement requirements:
- Score in the 75th percentile on a college admissions test (SAT/ACT/GRE), or
- Maintain a 3.25 GPA or higher.
- Complete TEACH Grant Request for Review and counseling with both your academic advisor and a financial aid counselor.
- Complete the yearly.
Grant Details and Teaching Obligation
Teaching Obligation:
- You must teach full-time in a high-need subject area at a low-income school for at least four years.
- Failure to meet this obligation will convert the grant into a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, with interest accruing from the date the grant was disbursed.

Student Responsibilities
- Respond Promptly to all U.S. Department of Education requests regarding your teaching status.
- Provide annual documentation confirming your teaching service.
- Contact the U.S. Department of Education if you experience situations that prevent you from fulfilling your teaching obligation (e.g., medical leave, enrollment breaks) to avoid the grant converting into a loan.
Important Note
Failure to meet the teaching requirements or to properly document your service will result in the permanent conversion of the TEACH Grant to a loan, with capitalized interest.
