This session will review the concept of Community Cultural Wealth, coined by Dr. Tara Yasso. Participants will 鈥渦npack鈥 how it relates to family engagement efforts, considering 6 forms of cultural capital to help us more intentionally respect and lift up the talents, strengths, and experiences that students and families bring to our communities. Mindful prompts will be shared to help unlearn the implicit, societal concept that school adults are the only purveyors and holders of knowledge. By sharing knowledge, a path to trust is formed.
