The Linguistics Program offers six merit-based scholarships in the amount of $500 per academic year to qualifying Linguistics majors participating in an approved education abroad program with a focus on second language study. Two scholarships are awarded every semester, including summer session.
Eligibility requirements: a declared major in Linguistics; an overall GPA of at least 3.0; GPA in Linguistics at least 3.25.
Aside from the aforementioned eligibility requirements, please note that students who are fully funded from another source/scholarship are not eligible to receive this award.
Non-SUNY programs must be approved by the scholarship committee.
For students studying abroad during Spring semester, the deadline to submit your application is December 1. For students studying abroad in Summer or Fall semesters, the deadline is April 1. Students are notified of the decision within two weeks of the deadline.
