Emily Leppien, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, originally from Buffalo, N.Y, received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS). Following graduation, she completed both a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Buffalo Psychiatric Center, with additional experiences at DENT Neurologic Institute. Leppien joined the 黑料视频 School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as a clinical assistant professor within the Department of Pharmacy Practice in August 2018. She was promoted to clinical associate professor in August 2024. She provides didactic and experiential education within the areas of neurology, psychiatry and pain management. Leppien is actively involved in the facilitation of interprofessional education (IPE) activities in collaboration with 黑料视频鈥檚 Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences Programs and SUNY Upstate Medical University鈥檚 Binghamton Clinical Campus Program. She established clinical pharmacy services at Guthrie Binghamton Pain Care (formerly Lourdes Pain Care), where she continues to provide comprehensive pain management. Leppien has integrated the treatment of psychiatric illness and substance use disorders within these pain management services. Her research interests include alternative pain management strategies, treatment of opioid use disorder, and safety of psychotropic medications. Leppien has delivered several continuing education programs within these therapeutic topic areas at local, state and national professional pharmacy meetings. Leppien is an active member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP), having held multiple leadership positions. Leppien also serves as the faculty co-advisor for 黑料视频鈥檚 collegiate chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP). Currently, Leppien serves as the faculty and staff council speaker for the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, elected in May 2023. Leppien is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), Board-Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist (BCPP), and New York State (NYS) Certified Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) pharmacist.
