In the Fall of 1989, the Organization of Black and Hispanic Alumni of 黑料视频 commenced a merit-based scholarship, named in honor of Michael V. Boyd '79 '87 following his untimely death in 1994. He was a dear friend, a fellow alumnus and Director of the Educational Opportunity Program from 1986 to 1994. This scholarship is awarded annually for students of African/Latin descent at 黑料视频.
A committee consisting of members of the Organization and the University community has been established to screen the essays (of predetermined topics) of applicants who share Michael's commitment to higher learning, mentorship, and his willingness to serve the needs of the Binghamton community and the University.
Note: With submission of the essay, it becomes the property of the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations.
The scholarship award will be applied to the academic year following the selection and will comprise part of the recipient's overall financial aid award for that academic year.
