Can I contact more than one mentor?
You can contact multiple mentors on the platform. We would suggest only connecting with one or two at a time to ensure you have the time to get the most out of each relationship.
-
How do 鈥渕eetings鈥 occur?
This is designed to be a distance mentoring program so students can connect with alumni from anywhere in the world. Most meetings will occur via phone, Skype, Facetime or other conference tools you may have available. However, if you do happen to be in the same location as the mentor, you are welcome to meet with them in person depending on their availability. If you do, they should meet at the mentor鈥檚 place of work or other public space (e.g., coffee shop, park, restaurant). You will decide with your mentor what the best meeting platform will be.
-
How long should a meeting last?
Meetings will typically last for one hour, but that will depend on your mentor鈥檚 availability.
-
Am I able to keep in touch with my mentor after our one-time meeting?
This is up to the mentor. You should ask for their personal contact information to send them a thank-you note.
-
If an alumnus or alumna doesn鈥檛 respond to my message or request, should I reach out
again?
If you have not heard back in a reasonable amount of time, please contact careers@binghamton.edu
