Background

Kelley's reseach centers on suicide prevention and mental health issues. She is particularly interested in youth mental health and examining the interaction of risk and protective factors for suicide for youth and LGBTQ people. Kelley brings clinical experience as a social worker, providing crisis intervention and individual and family therapy, leadership, teaching and training, and clinical supervision. Her approach to the mental health field is largely influenced by Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), grounded in a preventative, client-centered, strengths-based approach.
