Mission and Values

Our Mission 

Campus Recreational Services provides a safe and healthy environment to enrich the educational experience of the ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ community through the cooperative efforts of dedicated professionals and student staff. There are five distinct programs (Club Sports, Intramural Sports, Fitness and Wellness, Outdoor Pursuits and Open Recreation) designed to encourage positive lifestyle choices and promote lifelong learning through wellness and physical activities. Campus Recreational Services fosters social interaction, personal growth and the opportunity to develop leadership skills. 

Our Core Values 

Professionalism is demonstrated by a commitment to act ethically. We respect ourselves and are courteous to others. We are responsible for our actions and continually engage in personal and professional development. Responsibility, integrity and trust are integral components of professionalism. 

Safety is paramount to the quality services and environment we provide. We are committed to maintaining high standards and employing the best practices in our field.

Teamwork is practiced through a culture of communication, knowledge, and ownership. We believe in embracing our sense of humor and strive to be efficient, proactive and flexible. All input is valued and considered. 

Quality Service is provided with a welcoming atmosphere that accomodates a diverse university community. We are resourceful and empowered to make decisions. Each of us is actively concerned with the quality of services, growth and the success of the department. We value feedback and continuously challenge ourserlves to implement change that improve our services. 

Diversity 

Campus Recreation is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space for all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, religion, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status. We aim to recognize and celebrate differences from collaboration of diversity, equity and inclusion. To accomodate all of our members, we provide workout areas and programs to address various skill, ability and individual comfort levels.

Initiatives 

  • Create a monitoring system to measure diversity representation by function at all levels
