NCDA Exemplary Career Center Award
The Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development was recognized in June 2017 for receiving the Exemplary Career Center Award. This award promotes the continued development and implementation of thoughtful and innovative initiatives that support career development for outstanding service within education.
College of Distinction
ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ is continuously recognized as a Career Development College of Distinction due to the Fleishman Center's efforts to integrate future careers into the present curriculum.
During the 2023–24 academic year, ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ was recognized as a College of Distinction in the following categories:
- Top Colleges by State (for New York), which recognizes student engagement, teaching, community, and outcomes.
- Best Career Development College, an award for institutions that are exceptional in the areas of integrated career exploration, accessible programs and training, career-centered staff, assessments and resources, and employer relations.
- Best Equity & Inclusion Colleges, awarded to institutions which enliven their curriculum with high-impact practices, but also make these practices accessible in a welcoming community.
Career Spark Awards
The Fleishman Career Center and ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ were recognized in two categories at the inaugeral Handshake Career Spark Awards in October 2023. Handshake noted that the Fleishman Career Center utilizes creative ways to engage students and employer partners, as well as displays a high level of commitment to student success.
Innovation Awards
The Fleishman Center's Career Cluster model was awarded the Founder's Award for Innovation at the EY Global Career Services Summit in 2022.
The Career Champions Recognition Program was recognized in March 2018 at the Global Career Services Summit with the Innovation Award.
Service to International Students Award
The Fleishman Center received the National Career Development Association’s Award for Service to International Students in March 2020.
NASPA Excellence Award
Connections for Success was recognized in March 2018 by NASPA with the Excellence Award Silver Certificate in the Careers, Academic Advising and Support, and related category.
SUNY Outstanding Student Affairs Program Awards
The Fleishman Center's Career Clusters model was recognized October 2021 by the State University of New York's Chief Student Affairs Officers and Office of University Life in the Careers, Academic Advising and Support, Service-Learning, Community Service, and related category as an outstanding use of technology that connects students to career resources.
Kickstart Your Career, a summer program for incoming students, received an honorable mention in October 2019 by the State University of New York's Chief Student Affairs Officers and Office of University Life in the Careers, Academic Advising and Support, Service-Learning, Community Service, and related category.
The Career Development Centralized Internship (CDCI) program received an honorable mention in October 2018 by the State University of New York's Chief Student Affairs Officers and Office of University Life in the Careers, Academic Advising and Support, Service-Learning, Community Service, and related category.
Binghamton in the City: A Week of Connections was recognized in October 2016 by the State University of New York’s Chief Student Affairs Officers and Office of University Life with an Outstanding Student Affairs Program Award in the category of Careers, Academic Advising and Support, Service Learning, Community Service, and related.
The Career Consultant in Residence Program was also recognized in October 2016 by SUNY’s Chief Student Affairs Officers and Office of University Life with an Outstanding Student Affairs Program Award in the category of Housing, Residence Life, Contracted Services, Judicial and related.
Awards for Excellence in Programming
Connections for Success was recognized in June 2016 by the SUNY Career Development Organization with an award for Excellence in Programming in the category of Career Planning and Development Program.
The Career Champions Recognition Event was recognized in June 2016 by the SUNY Career Development Organization with the Committee's Choice Award for Excellence in Programming.
The Making S'more Connections Program was recognized in June 2015 by the SUNY Career Development Organization with the Committee's Choice Award for Excellence in Programming.
Innovation in Program Development Award
NYC Employer Site Visit Program was recognized in June 2015 by the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE) with the Innovation in Program Development Award for serving as a model program for students.
